After leaving Germany, the ship sailed east across the Baltic Sea. The water might have been calm and uneventful, but the boat was full of events. There was a Broadway-like show called "On Broadway", which was very entertaining. Also available were art auctions, bingo, a casino (but I didn't gamble), dance lessons, a gym (I did exercise) and loads of other activities such as swimming, basketball, golf, ping-pong etc.. Food, as expected, was a highlight of the cruise. I may look like I was "begging" for food in the picture, but there was no need. The boat serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon "high" tea, dinner, and midnight buffets every day. The theme of last night's midnight buffet was chocolate. Everything served was covered or stuffed with chocolate. There were even chocolate wantons, which I had never seen, tasted or heard of. Anyway, what I was holding in the photo was barbecue ribs served at lunch from the side of the swimming pool on the top deck (12).
I am gaining on the average 1½ pounds per day. From now on, I will be asking photographers to take 2 extra steps backward before they take my pictures. So excuse me for appearing smaller and smaller in future photos. We must have been close to shore as there were many ships around us. Stay tuned about the next stop. |
