My Hobbies and Habits

This is the page where you get to find out a little more about me, what I do for work and play. I keep a faily active life between Working for my company Talamini Computer Services Inc. as a consultant. Its nice and varied work which keeps my skills sharp and my options open. They are a good company and a really great bunch of folks!

I have a diverse bunch of hobbies. The best part is that they are all integrated into my main hobby which is participating with a renaissance re-enactment group calledThe Society for Creative Anachronisms. They are a wonderful, informative group that tries to recreate the middles ages as they could have been! They try to learn and recreate the time period circa 1600 back. It is with them that I have taken up many interesting things, made some amazing friends and continue to feed my need to learn and understand and CREATE!!

Homebrewing

Homebrewing is one of my favorite hobbies. I got hooked into it when I found that I could make beer that tastes like my favorite imports for a lot less money!For the price of a sixpack in most cases I could make almost two cases worth. Once I had gotten the basic principle down and had talked to some friends who had brewed for awhile I started to experiment. While at a SCA event a noble introduced me to meade which is basically fermented honey. Once I tasted that I was hooked! Now a great many of the beers or wines that I create are honey based. I find that the honey imparts a smoother taste while keeping the distinction of the beer present. While beer brewing isn't really all that hard it is definately an art, to be able to get the distinct flavor you want , or to create the exact clone of your favorite for a lot less money.
